We offer this 9days/8nighs circuit on regular Adria Airways CDG/Ljubljana/Tirana flights, departures everyday but Tuesday.
This grand tour of Albania goes through all the essential sites in the country: the museum-cities Berat, Gjirokaster and Kruja, the major archaeological sites of Butrint and Apollonia, the Byzantine sites (Mesopotam, Korca museum of medieval art and Onufri national museum in Berat), the landscapes of the Ionian coast in between Saranda and Vlora, the two mains port cities in the country: Durrës and Vlora and of course the capital Tirana in total effervescence.

D1 : PLANE Paris/Tirana - PREZA - visit of TIRANA - night TIRANA (17km)
Detour in the Preza fortress which dominates the city of Tirana.
Tour of the city by bus with the Skanderberg place (beneath), the "Bulevard" regrouping all the institutions in the country (beneath the old Anbanian communist party headquarters) and visit of the National History Museum.

D2 : TIRANA - visit of KRUJA - visit of DURRES  - night DURRES (60km)

Visit of the perched city of KRUJA at 600m of altitude dominating the whole central plain of Tirana until Durres and the sea!
The old bastion of the Albanian hero Skanderberg is today an enjoyable little town with a citadel, the most beautiful ethnographic museum in the country and the only bazaar in Albania with its local crafts shops and bric-à-brac traders.
Visit of DURRES, main port in Albania since Antiquity. Formerly a layover of the Via Egnatia which linked Rome to Byzantium, Durrës has only kept a few ruins of its past notably its Roman amphitheater (beneath), a few traces of the Turkish occupation and beautiful Italian style houses in its city center.

D3 : DURRES - ARDENICA monastery - BERAT - night BERAT (135km)
Visit ARDENICA orthodox monastery and its beautiful iconostasis from 1744.

Guided tour of BERAT classified global heritage by UNESCO (Mangalem neighborhood with the entry the Mosque of Kings and Mosque of Lead) and the citadel with entry to the Onfuri national museum and its superb icons.

D4 : BERAT - visit of APOLLONIA - visit of VLORA - night VLORA (120km)
Visit of APOLLONIA, the largest archaeological site in Albania, currently searched by a French team (beneath).
Visit in VLORA of the museum of Independence and the small mosque of Murat on the town's central place.

D5 : VLORA - PARC NATIONAL LLOGARA - RIVIERA ALBANAISE - night SARANDA (145km)
Climb to the top of LLOGARA national park (1000m in altitude) from the panoramic view extends to all the Albanian Riviera with the Greek island of Corfou far away
Discovery of the Ionnian coast with its preserved Mediterranean landscapes and beautiful beaches (stops in Himara and Dhermi).

D6 : SARANDA - BUTRINT - MESOPOTAM - SARANDA (60km)
Guided tour of BUTRINT, the jewel of Albanian architecture very close to the Greek border. On this peninsula Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Turks have succeeded each other.
Stop in MESOPOTAM to see a very beautiful 12th century Byzantine church.

D7 : SARANDA - visit of GJIROKASTER - night KORCE (230km)

Guided tour of the natal city of the dictator Enver Hohxa and the writer Ismaël Kada.
Entries to the citadel and its museum of arms, ethnographic museum (in Enver Hoxha's family's house) and the crafts center are included.

D8 : KORCE - LAC OHRID - ELBASAN - PETRELA night TIRANA (185km)
Visit of the national museum of medieval art of Korça with superb icons (atop).
Road for Tirana with lunch stop in Pogradec, pause in Elbasan and detour in the Petrala fortress which overhangs the town of Tirana.
